Authors, inventors, and comedian-artist to teach jewelry making at the famous JOGS gem show in Tucson February 1 through 12, 2013

Jewelry Tools to feature top instructors teaching the most up-to-date jewelry crafting techniques in the country at JOGS Gem and Jewelry Show in Tucson

JewelryTools.Com, a one-stop on-line shop for jewelry-making supplies, is hosting more than 100 classes at the JOGS Gem and Jewelry Show coming up February 1 - 12, 2013 at the Expo Center in Tucson. Registration is now open to the public for the classes that feature top instructors teaching the most up-to-date jewelry crafting techniques in the country.

It’s a great chance to learn from the pros and start a new hobby, or expand your knowledge and learn new special techniques.”

JewelryTools.Com's Tucson jewelry classes will be taught by the following experts:

  •     Patti Bullard, founder of WiredUpBeads.com and known for inventing Wubbers jewelry making pliers, which are specially designed tools for simple, effortless jewelry creation. Bullard will teach sterling silver spinner and stackable rings.
  •     Helen Driggs, Senior Editor for Lapidary Journal Jewelry Artist magazine, and an experienced metalsmith, will teach a layered heart pendant, riveted pendant, and circle earrings.
  •     Meredith Arnold, a comedian-artist specializing in jewelry and mixed media work, will teach how to use a Flexshaft, which is a motorized jewelry tool that can reduce the jewelry creation and finishing process by as much as 90 percent; as well as how to create patina effects with a torch.
  •     Fifteen other talented teachers will also offer classes. These include several published authors, such as Kate Richbourg, Brenda Schweder, Lilian Chen, and Jodi Bombardier.

Class prices range from $119 to $169 per class, with a low project kit fee per class. The jewelry classes are a mix of half-day (3.5 hours) and full-day (7.5 hours) jewelry making sessions. Attendees will walk away with a finished project in every class.

Approximately 100,000 people will come to Tucson for the show, representing 19,000 stores and about 3,700 exhibiting companies. This year, JOGS will have 4,000 vendors.
