“Schizophrenia is a growing epidemic,” Edgell asserts. “People need to know how to cope with it and understand it as a means of God correcting his children.”

Raymond Edgell shares his lifetime struggle with a debilitating condition and shows how learning to live with and understand it changed his life in his new autobiography, “Schizophrenia: One Man’s Struggle” (published by AuthorHouse).

Schizophrenia is a growing epidemic,” Edgell asserts. “People need to know how to cope with it and understand it as a means of God correcting his children.”

“The voices in my head have been on me for three years to write this book,” Edgell explains. “They were saying ‘write a book …’ and I fill in the rest of the sentence. One Sunday morning they said that and I was listening to ‘In Touch’ with Dr. Stanley and decided to try to put down in words, with help from the voices and Holy Spirit, what I’ve gone through.”

“Schizophrenia” gives a thorough, autobiographical account of Edgell’s life and details how consumed he was with trying to determine the cause of his condition. By sharing his story, he hopes that he will show others an acceptable way of living with schizophrenia and discusses the physiology of the brain as it relates to the disease.

“You must hope for a better tomorrow,” Edgell tells his readers. “You must surrender your life to the will of God. Love and charity cover a multitude of sins. Sin is the reason you get schizophrenia. It is not a mental disease but a corrective measure God uses.”
