Author Barbara J. Rohlehr presents an exciting journey of the departed in their desperate attempt to escape the bleak, burial grounds. The Cemetery Gang offers an entertaining life-after-death story of dissatisfied ghosts embarking to the real, tangible world in their desire to break the monotony of their untimely death.
Set at a cemetery on Stanley Street, Niagara Falls, Canada, five disgruntled, misfit spirits seek a life away from the final venue of their interment. Pole, Sammy, Saleem, Abe and Kofie refuse to accept the truth that they are already dead. Still, the fact remains that they have been trapped in the graveyard grounds for several years now. Although not really fond with each other, they are forced to spend most of their time together. They don’t have much choice anyhow. They spend most of their time at the Fat Lady’s Tomb talking and arguing almost always absurdly of their previous lives.
Not until the great scam artist Kofie cunningly crafts an escape scheme from their entombment in the cemetery. All of them eagerly agree. They finally leave the burial grounds and venture out into the living world. Unfortunately, things do not turn out the way they want.
This book is an extremely amusing book exhibiting a comical preview of the afterlife. The things they can do and cannot do are the challenges they meet in the actual world which they are about to face. The Cemetery Gang will definitely hold reader’s attention down to the very last word of this book.
