“Fixing Your IRS Problems” is a way in which to utilize the talents and the knowledge of experienced tax attorneys and tax law professors in an approachable format.
Beverly Hills, CA (PRWEB) January 24, 2013
Samuel Landis and Gregory Segal, Senior Partners at Segal, Cohen & Landis, LLP will begin a series of clinics in addition to their academic endeavors as professors at University of West Los Angeles School of Law. These clinics will cover topics such as common IRS tax issues that individuals face, the implications of Obamacare in the coming years, and the affects of the shrinking Internal Revenue Service. They will begin the series by lecturing at The Mesereau Free Legal Clinic.
The first clinic, entitled “Fixing Your IRS Problems,” will take place on February 2, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Morningside UCC Complex in Inglewood, CA. The clinic will focus on the IRS issues that plague taxpayers, paying particular attention to unpaid income tax.
Because approximately one in ten individuals in the United States have tax related problems, such a clinic is particularly relevant. Tax issues are not limited to low-income earners, nor are they exclusive to high-income earners. IRS problems plague taxpayers in each bracket. Having the correct information once a problem arises is essential to attaining a resolution.
Some of the topics Landis and Segal will discuss include the resolution of tax liens and levies, payroll tax, back tax issues, and unfiled returns.
For many taxpayers, the desire to begin the resolution process is present, but the resources are not. This is the reason why the attorneys of Segal, Cohen & Landis decided to partner with organizations that assist the broader community with free legal advice. The Mesereau Free Clinic, a subsidiary of The Mesereau Community Legal Foundation, provides legal assistance and information to individuals in South Central Los Angeles who may not otherwise have access to such resources. The organization is firmly committed to the education and betterment of the community at large. Segal, Cohen & Landis shares this commitment.
In this confusing era of ever-changing tax policy, it is essential to get relevant information and advice from reliable sources. This clinic, “Fixing Your IRS Problems,” is a way in which to utilize the talents and the knowledge of experienced tax attorneys and tax law professors in an approachable format.
