“The need for proactive data management is more important than ever,” said Mark Perlstein, president and CEO of Datavail.
Denver, CO (PRWEB) January 23, 2013
Datavail, one of the largest providers of remote database administration (DBA) services in North America, announced today that the company achieved more than 80 percent revenue growth in the first three quarters of fiscal year 2012. Datavail credits its considerable growth to its geographic expansion and acquisition strategy. The company expects these factors to drive nearly 50 percent growth in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year, ending March 31, 2013.
According to IBM, 90 percent of existing data was developed just in the last two years. This explosion of data is causing more businesses to seek support from Datavail to effectively manage one of their most valuable assets - their data. Datavail offers flexible database administration and 24x7 support, and specializes in Oracle, Oracle E-Business Suite, Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL to meet each customer’s unique business requirements.
Datavail’s sustained growth is the result of its geographic expansion, enhanced by a focused acquisition strategy. In July 2012, Datavail announced its acquisition of Seattle-based Blue Gecko, giving the company a stronger presence in the Pacific Northwest. Datavail also plans to expand its operations in the Northeast, California, Texas and in the Midwest, and expects to hire up to 500 new employees within the next four years.
To support this aggressive expansion plan, the company will leverage the $4.25 million in growth equity funding it received last September from new investor, Meritage Funds, with support from existing investment firms: Boulder Ventures and Montis Capital. This third round of financing will support Datavail’s long-term goal of becoming the largest pure-play database services company in the world. The company is well on its way to achieving this goal. In August, Datavail was included on the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest growing private companies in America. Datavail ranks number 1,842 out of 5,000 companies.
“The need for proactive data management is more important than ever,” said Mark Perlstein, president and CEO of Datavail. “Organizations with serious data needs must align their internal data management philosophy with the idea that data is a unique entity, supported by infrastructure, delivered by a wide range of applications and consumed by end users. As a firm focused solely on data and database management, Datavail sees databases moving out of their traditional homes within organizational infrastructure or application teams, and becoming a distinct entity within enterprise IT organizations. It is from these data-focused organizations that Datavail projects the largest potential for business growth.”
