Firms Evaluate the Digital Landscape Across Pharma and Device

The Digital Health Coalition and Klick Health have teamed up to evaluate the current landscape of social media activities by pharmaceutical and medical device companies. In addition to evaluating the 3,000+ sites online today across Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, the firms plan to highlight the companies, brands, and teams they believe represent the “best in class” thinking online today.

“There has always been interest from the Digital Health Coalition membership to catalog the activities of the industry within social media,” Joe Farris, co-founder of the Digital Health Coalition said. “This is an exciting project for the DHC and working with the team at Klick Health allows us to expand the scope, frequency, and analytical rigor of the project.”

Companies and individuals interested in learning more about the project – or contributing to it -- can visit the project page and submit a form with their comments, ideas, and feedback.

“This project came about as a result of conversations we had with the Digital Health Coalition about how to inform the industry about what is happening in social media today,” states Peter Flaschner, VP Strategy Klick Health. “This project will allow companies and brands to keep up with the various projects in social media today and also provide them with context with regard to what companies are setting the bar higher – by investing in strategies that represent the future of social media.”

The motivation behind the project is simple in theory. “We know a lot of digital projects ultimately get approved and funded because someone else was successful in their approach,” Joe Farris said. “By providing this resource to the industry we believe we can help the innovators out there demonstrate the world of digital health is moving forward – one project at a time. Within five years digital and social business will become part of the fabric of most brands – and their customer experience strategy.”
