Kobo, a global leader in eReading, today announced that it has appointed Jean-Marc Dupuis, a former Apple Sales Director who was instrumental in the company doubling its revenue in Europe, as its new Managing Director for EMEA.
Based in Paris, Dupuis brings more than 25 years of experience in the technology industry and will work with Kobo’s EVP and General Manager of Devices, Wayne White, to lead Kobo’s expansion strategy across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Kobo, which owns 20 percent of the global eReader market [source: DigiTimes ] and has users in 190 countries, has established localized eReading services in 12 countries around the world and is continuing its momentum in 2013 with plans for aggressive growth.
Prior to joining Kobo, Dupuis was at Apple Inc. as Sales Director for South Europe, the Middle East and Africa, where he was responsible for territory sales teams. During his tenure at Apple, he was instrumental in increasing customer partnerships in Europe, expanding Apple’s business in emerging countries and more than doubling revenue in many countries. Prior to his role at Apple, Dupuis held several leadership positions at Creative Labs, as well as at Borland, SPC, Multilog, and Michelin.

Dupuis holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing from Penn State University and a DESCAF in International Business from CERAM Sophia Antipolis. His most recent read was Beautiful Souls: Saying No, Breaking Ranks, and Heeding the Voice of Conscience in Dark Times by Larry Kramer.
