In “God’s Presence in the Life of an Ordinary Woman” (published by WestBow Press), author Kitty McCaffrey shares a series of poignant anecdotes about keeping her faith throughout a life filled with love and loss while learning to survive and thrive in a seemingly unforgiving society.
“This book is for simple, everyday people," she says. "Hopefully it will give them courage to face their own importance as they live their life.”
With admirable frankness and utmost sincerity, McCaffrey reveals some of the darkest times in her life as she describes the extreme poverty she endured as a child, the anguish of an emotionally-distant mother, and the callous husbands whose betrayals caused inevitable divorces.
Fortunately, many of the dark clouds in McCaffrey’s life produced silver linings as her poor upbringing paved the way for many opportunities to receive a first-rate education, while her doomed relationships allowed her to adopt two beautiful children.
While many of the events in McCaffrey’s life have been astonishing, she stresses that anyone can relate to both the pain and joy she has experienced.
“My book is an example of how God uses simple people. I looked back on my life and realized that the good and the bad events were of equal importance.”
