Winning this award demonstrates that our patients feel CMWL is the best way to lose and maintain weight, Dr. Kaplan added.
Tarrytown, New York (PRWEB) January 23, 2013
Long Island Press readers voted the Center for Medical Weight Loss (CMWL), the Best Bariatric Practice on Long Island. The center, run by CMWL Founder and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Michael Kaplan, earned this award for two consecutive years, in 2011 and now 2012.
CMWL, which is the largest network of non-surgical medical weight loss providers in the United States, beat out a competitive field of more than 18 nominated practices and hospitals for the top spot. The Best of Long Island awards have been in place for seven years, and this year saw the biggest voting turnout, with more than 1.2 million votes cast for 362 categories.
“It is an honor to receive this award for the second consecutive year. We are really lucky to have such amazing patients who took the time out of their busy schedules to vote for us. Some of my patients have come to the office chanting, ‘We won,’” Dr. Kaplan said.
Dr. Kaplan has trained more than 800 doctors in the past six years , who all practice the same methods to help patients achieve long-term weight loss. CMWL has helped thousands of people across the U.S. reach their weight loss goals through customized, physician-directed plans that generate excellent results. A study published in The American Journal of Medicine suggests CMWL physician-run programs that include behavioral counseling are effective treatments for obesity and those who are overweight.
“I cannot imagine more rewarding work than helping people achieve better health through weight loss. Winning this award demonstrates that our patients feel CMWL is the best way to lose and maintain weight,” Dr. Kaplan added.
