“The Walk for Wishes is a great way to build a spirit of compassion and corporate social responsibility amongst employees as they give of themselves to help others,” said Inhouse.
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) January 23, 2013
Make-A-Wish® Georgia announced today that John J. Inhouse, III, Managing Director of the Atlanta Buckhead Complex for Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, will serve as the Walk for Wishes Chairperson for the 9th Annual Walk for Wishes. The event will be held on April 20, 2013 at the Turner Field Grand Plaza, beginning at 8:00 a.m.
Mr. Inhouse is replacing 2012 Walk Chairperson, Karen Renner, Chief Information Officer of Novelis, Inc. Ms. Renner led the 2012 Walk for Wishes in raising $195,000 to help grant the wishes of local children with life-threatening medical conditions. Novelis, Inc. served as a Presenting Sponsor for the event last year, and will again be a Presenting Sponsor for 2013.
In previous years, Merrill Lynch has been a sponsor of the golf tournament and gala, fundraised for the walk, and adopted wishes. In addition, Inhouse serves as a Board Member for the Make-A-Wish Georgia. As Chair of the Walk for Wishes, Mr. Inhouse will continue to encourage Merrill Lynch employees, as well as all Atlanta companies, to form corporate teams and participate in the event.
“The Walk for Wishes is a great way to build a spirit of compassion and corporate social responsibility amongst employees as they give of themselves to help others,” said Inhouse. “It is a perfect fit for me to be a part of this wonderful organization that, like ours, values supporting people in our local community.”
“We are so proud to have Merrill Lynch on our team to help bring leadership to our 9th annual Walk for Wishes. We are extremely grateful for the support of our corporate partners and we are thrilled that John is serving as our Walk Chairman,” said Kari Love, Vice President of Corporate Development and Events. “His participation and enthusiasm are vital to our efforts in impacting the lives of children in our local community.”
This year’s Walk for Wishes will draw over 2,500 participants with a combined goal of raising $325,000 for Make-A-Wish Georgia. Funds will be used to grant wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses throughout the state of Georgia.
