Coral Springs, Fla. (PRWEB) January 23, 2013
New Wave Surgical Corp., a surgical device company on the Inc. 500 fastest growing companies list, just announced that its flagship product D.H-E-L-P has helped more than 300,000 patients in 2012, up 146 percent from 2011.
This latest recognition adds to New Wave Surgical’s long list of accomplishments. In the last year, the company increased its hospital base by 60 percent, adding 300 hospitals to its customer database. Since 2011, Intuitive Surgical has listed New Wave as a “Suggested Vendor” and D.H-E-L-P was used in more than 800 hospitals worldwide.
D.H-E-L-P is a device that was created to help surgical teams see clearly throughout an entire laparoscopic or robotic procedure--in essence, decreasing operating room time and the amount of anesthesia used in each case. Prior to the creation of D.H-E-L-P, fogging and laparoscope lens-cleaning remained a frustration for surgeons and operating room staff. When scopes get fogged and soiled from body tissue and fluids, the operating room time is extended, increasing procedure costs and potential patient risks.
“Each day, when another D.H-E-L-P is opened for a procedure, all of us at New Wave take pride in the fact that our system has the capability to help highly skilled surgeons and assist in better patient outcomes,” said Alexander Gomez, founder and president of New Wave Surgical. We are excited to welcome more employees to our growing New Wave family and we are eager to introduce D.H-E-L-P into many more hospitals in 2013.”
In addition to working on other innovative products, two of which they hope to launch in 2013, New Wave Surgical is expanding its global business in Europe, Asia and Latin America.
