Lebanon, PA (PRWEB) January 29, 2013
In an online auction slated to end on February 13th, North Lebanon Township, PA is selling a sizable lot of police and fire supplies and components for additional non-tax revenue. By using an established, but innovative, online government auctions site specifically designed for municipalities, North Lebanon Township is looking to sell items such as strobe lights, flasher kits, signal sirens and lightbars. There is even a tranquilizer gun included in the bidding. With three weeks remaining, the township expects to garnish thousands of dollars to be put back into its budget.
North Lebanon Township is using online auction site, Municibid.com to sell this used police and fire equipment. Municibid was established in 2006 and has grown steadily since, with over 800 government agencies auctioning surplus through the efficient online system. North Lebanon Township Manager, Cheri Grumbine says, “The township decided to use Municibid to auction its surplus items because the website has an established nationwide reach with a huge marketing and social media presence. Past auctions on Municibid have resulted in more competitive bidding than an onsite auction and more non-tax revenue than a private sale.”
Municibid Founder and CEO, Greg Berry said, “Taxpayer demand and tightened budgets require government agencies to look for new ways of increasing non-tax revenue. Municibid is an easy way to achieve this and at no cost to the agency.” Berry added “Auction items will reach a much broader, national audience of competing bidders, leading to better net results.”
The North Lebanon Township, PA Auction went live on the Municibid website on January 22nd and will close in three weeks, on February 13th. With 14 items up for auction, including a Pneu-Dart Model 167 Tranquilizer Gun, township officials are looking for thousands of dollars in revenue to be put back into the municipal budget.
