Anderson truly cares for animals, and she hopes “Penny's Love for Cats” teaches young people to love animals in the same way. “There is so much cruelty toward animals today,” she laments. “But they need love, too.”

Author Alice Anderson believes that most young people love animals, but she wants to help spread that love to even more people. Her new children’s storybook “Penny's Love for Cats” (published by AuthorHouse) shows youngsters just how special the bond between a child and a beloved pet can be.

“Penny's Love for Cats” tells the story of Penny, a little girl who loves cats very much. She is particularly close to her first cat, Candy. But one day a terrible accident happens when a car hits Candy. Penny is heartbroken by the loss of her beloved animal friend, and she is very sad for a long time. Hoping to help Penny feel better, her parents take her on a trip to visit her aunt. On the trip, Penny finds another cat – Fluffy – who she quickly bonds with. Penny loves her new cat, but she will never forget Candy.

An excerpt from “Penny's Love for Cats”:

“The cat looked at her as if to say, ‘Please take me home with you.’ Penny was in love again. She ran around the shop looking for her father, and when she found him, she was so excited. She asked, ‘Can I have Fluffy’?

‘Who is Fluffy?’ her father asked.

‘She is my cat.’”
