“The Panda Syndrome” takes a deeply personal look at life, love and the betrayal of one’s self, the capabilities of redemption and the inner strength each human possesses.

“Society has taken from us what is our birthright to have,” author Frank Simonelli says, “truth in ourselves.” In his new book, “The Panda Syndrome: A Societal Imposition” (published by Balboa Press), Simonelli pens a number of poems and short stories offering a dark, enigmatic look into one man’s journey through life in his own search for truth.

“I have become aware that a great number of people are questioning their spirituality these days,” Simonelli states. “I have also become aware that not only do they search for truths in themselves but the reasons and purposes of their existence.”

A powerful excerpt from the work entitled, “Angel Astray - Spirit in Exile”:

The sun scantily staggered into the contemptible sky.
The stars surrendered their swords and turned away
as the angels remorsefully wept and bowed their heads in shame.

“The Panda Syndrome” takes a deeply personal look at life, love and the betrayal of one’s self, the capabilities of redemption and the inner strength each human possesses.

About the Author
Frank Simonelli, born in Brooklyn, N.Y., in 1959, was aware of his connection to spirit very early on. Absorbing as much information about this human life as he could, art, music and literature were his life’s passions, an inspiration, perhaps, an escape. Like so many, life’s disappointments taught valuable lessons, some of which are expressed in this poetry collection. Simonelli resides in central New Jersey with his wife and three daughters.
