Father Markos R. Hanna releases the third and latest edition of his book, titled Moral Issues: The Church’s View Point on Contemporary Issues, and will present it in the Michigan Regional Book Exhibit early next year. Hanna’s book is primarily addressed to the faithful of the Coptic Orthodox Church. However, it offers well-grounded wisdom, hope and enlightenment to people of any faith who are longing to find answers to controversial issues that plague the world today.
“Because of the importance of the moral issues and the hard challenges that the youths, parents, adults and Sunday school servants/teachers face, it was inevitable to put these issues on the table of discussion, and to present a Christian Orthodox view on most of these vital, critical and contemporary issues,” states Hanna.
Hanna’s work is a compact yet comprehensive instructional guide that helps readers develop Christian values and standards. It methodically and alphabetically tackles about 28 social, political, economic, medical, moral, cultural and religious issues including AIDS, abortion, capital punishment, divorce, euthanasia, genetic engineering, homosexuality, and many more. It educates and evangelizes through Biblical instructions, straightforward answers to common questions, examination of conscience, and expositions of theories and cases.
Moral Issues had its First Edition in 1997 and Second Edition in 2005. With its new edition, it continues to offer the Orthodox Christian perspective to both Christians and non-Christians alike. It nourishes their souls with solid Biblical and moral principles they can reflect on whether they are in church, in their homes, or in their working places, and helps them withstand morally dangerous opposing views.
This book will be featured at the 2013 Michigan Reading Association Book Exhibit in Grand Rapids, Mich. on March 9 – 10, 2013.
