THE ARTFUL LODGERS blends history and imagination to tell a crime story that will keep readers engaged from beginning to end.

Set in a grand old Georgian manor in the west of Ireland, the story follows a band of unusual characters, a 170-year-old androgynous apparition; the young Irish concierge, James O’Brian; an Irish publisher, Seamus Cullen; a middle-aged, rich American businesswoman, Hanna Denning, a young, successful English novelist, Clive Birmingham and the tacky Texans, Charlotte and Howard Lent. Serendipity forges the group and together they embark on an unbelievable adventure to end their ennui and help out the orphanage next door. About the Author
Lord Reginald Quinton Leary was born into the titled Leary family in England in the 18th century and was educated at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. The aristocratic Leary family became members of the British absentee landlord society in Ireland. A penchant for petticoats and peplums forced Lord Leary to become seneschal of the Leary family lands on the Emerald Isle and he took up residence in Glen Leary, the family’s grand old Georgian manor. Lord Leary held court there all throughout his lifetime until the present.

The Artful Lodger advisor, Marshall Borden, was born and educated in Michigan. He holds a BA and MA from Eastern Michigan University and a PhD at Wayne State University. After teaching for several years, he spent three decades as an actor and director in theatre, television, film, light opera and musical theatre. Creative writing has always been a nagging desire of his and several of his plays have been produced off-Broadway and in regional theatres across the United States. He has also been produced at the National Theatre of Canada.
