In his incisive new book, Without Absolutes, God is not God: An Anthology of Reflections, author Ronald A Train examines the concept of absolutism in light of Christianity.

Without Absolutes, God is not God is a collection of essays which are essentially about God’s absolutism and how Christians should respond to it. The essays address five key points: God’s absolutes, God’s ontology being expressed relationally and communally, revelatory faith as the only way that a person can enter into a relationship with God, Christ’s exclusiveness and effective discipleship as an absolute necessity for Christian and church growth. The need for absolutes is not complex. Train explains,

“In reality the argument determines whether one is a believer or non-believer in the triune God. A believer will weigh whether God ‘revelationally’ speaks into this world generally and specifically. A non-believer will object to such a proposition and as a consequence leave him or herself open to other belief systems”

Informative and ultimately enriching, Without Absolutes, God is not God is a triumphant testament of one man’s passion for the Almighty and an invitation for others to deepen their own faith in Him.
