New app, Sort This Out Pack, launched at the BETT Show in London

Sort This Out Pack's fun train game allows learners to work on categorisation skills

Therapy Box, award winning communication and therapy app producers, have launched their latest app for the iPad. The newly released Sort This Out Pack is designed to encourage young learners to work on important categorisation skills with a fun and motivating train game that features lively animation and sound effects.

The game calls on children to categorise items that appear in eight boxes lined up along a station platform with bears their very own name! The child works to sort each of the eight items into two categories by placing them in either of the two train carriages following its arrival at the station.

Each box contains a colourful and engaging Widgit symbol, or your very own photo or image. This leads to the app being easily customised to tailor the content to suit the child’s learning needs. With over 20 categories and 264 individual everyday items for the child to sort, it is designed to keep the learner engaged at any level.

“Our new Sort This Out Pack makes learning fun” Rebecca Bright, Speech and Language Therapist and Therapy Box Director explains, “This app’s fun train station animation will be a big hit with early learners, and in turn, with the teachers, parents and speech therapists who work with them.”

Teachers, speech therapists and parents will appreciate the level of customisation available to ensure that the learning task caters to the child’s abilities. With features such as errorless learning and the ability to adjust the difficulty; this app delivers a powerful tool for the classroom or home.

“We know that when a child is having fun, they are more likely to remain engaged and motivated. Our Sort This Out Pack for iPad ticks all the boxes – fun for learners and a simple to use, customisable app for their instructor,” said Rebecca.
