Atlanta GA (PRWEB) January 29, 2013

Metadigm Services, a leading national utility services company specializing in Advanced Metering Infrastructure, today announces an automated meter reading (AMR) gas and meter deployment project with Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO).

Headquartered in Merrillville, Ind., NIPSCO is one of the seven energy distribution companies of NiSource Inc., serving 786,000 natural gas customers and 457,000 electric customers in northern Indiana.

Metadigm Services will install Itron gas ERT’s and electric meters in a three year engagement that begins first quarter 2013.

“This is a major service improvement for our customers, and we selected Metadigm for their proven experience with large-scale meter installations, their rigorous process playbook and constant focus on safe work practices,” says Mike Hooper, vice president of major projects for NIPSCO.

Through NIPSCO’s investment, Metadigm will deploy a senior team to support up to 60 local installers from the #153, #305, #531, #668, #697, and #873 of IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers).

“We’ll be working close with Itron and the IBEW Locals to create outstanding customer service functionality for northern Indiana residents,” says Rob Shively, CEO Metadigm Services.

The project is part of NIPSCO’s continued efforts to better serve its gas and electric customers.
