Montrose Travel, a $160+ million full-service travel and host Travel Management Company, celebrated the close of a successful 2012 by honoring associates and business partners at its annual Year-End Holiday Awards Party. The event, held December 1st at the Oakmont Country Club in Glendale, California, saw over 300 associates, independent contractors and business partners come together for a night of great food, live entertainment and awards honoring those who play key roles in the company’s continued success.
With 56 years in business, Montrose Travel grew from 14 employees in 1990 to more than 150 today with over 500 home-based travel agents. Reflecting on this growth, Montrose Travel’s President, Joe McClure, expressed, “The consistent growth of the company has always depended on the quality of the relationship with our customers. For this reason, we honor the individuals and businesses that help us serve them.”
As always, one of the most anticipated and respected awards of the evening came with the announcement of Montrose Travel’s annual “Business and Supplier Partners of the Year”.
Montrose Travel’s 2012 Business Partner of the Year was awarded to PSCU, the nation’s leading credit union service organization providing traditional and online financial services to over 1,500 financial institutions and 680 credit unions nationwide. “Montrose Travel has, in large part, become what it is today because of its association with credit unions and a number of financial institutions as their exclusive travel provider,” explained McClure. “PSCU represents a quantum leap in our ability to serve these customers through its powerful cardholder loyalty programs. They are a truly exemplary business partner with the opportunities they bring to Montrose Travel. We deeply appreciate their friendship and look forward to many more years of working together.” Accepting the award on PSCU’s behalf was Annie Cox, Director of Loyalty Solutions.
The company’s 2012 Supplier Partner of the Year award was given to Royal Caribbean International, recently named Best Cruise Line Overall by Travel Weekly readers for the 10th consecutive year. “Royal Caribbean has been a consistently strong supplier partner with Montrose Travel and has worked hand-in-hand with us to provide our customers with a world-class vacation experience. Their combination of onboard amenities, family-friendly entertainment, innovative ships and great itineraries makes them a clear winner for us,” said McClure. “Where other large cruise lines have been progressively dialing-back on their travel agency relationships, Royal Caribbean is still right there with us. It’s healthy for the travel industry. We sincerely value their loyalty to us and to the agency-side of the industry as a whole.” On-hand to accept the award was Randy Raudt, Royal Caribbean’s West Sales Region Business Development Manager.
The evening concluded with cocktails and dancing, where long-time friendships were renewed and new ones formed. Said McClure, “Our year-end party is a time to come together, recognize and honor one another, and to reaffirm the knowledge that with friends like this, the future always looks bright.”
