Denver, CO (PRWEB) January 30, 2013
The international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP welcomes M. Antonio Gallegos as of counsel to the Denver Health & FDA practice group, working closely with our litigation practice. His practice area includes the food, nutrition, medical device and sports industries and assists private and public companies and individuals involved in government investigations, regulatory enforcement actions and consumer litigation. The addition of Antonio will bring the number of attorneys practicing in this area in Denver to four and to over sixty nationally. Across practice areas, over 200 GT attorneys provide legal services to clients in the healthcare industry.
Antonio focuses his legal practice on compliance with regulations administered by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Federal Trade Commission (FTC), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Department of Agriculture (USDA), as well as similar state-level regulatory agencies. In addition, Antonio also has regulatory, litigation and dispute resolution experience expertise in the food, nutrition, dietary supplement, medical device and over-the-counter drug industries.
As a competitive cyclist since high school, Antonio brings his passion for cycling through active involvement with several sports law organizations that promote fair competition and work to eradicate the use of performance enhancing drugs in sports. He also represents professional athletes in anti-doping enforcement cases to ensure that they are given a fair opportunity to defend themselves.
“Antonio is going to add additional bench strength to our Denver Health & FDA practice, as well as a new medical device and anti-doping focus that is especially significant in this market with the number of manufacturers and sporting organizations in Colorado. We are excited that Antonio has joined and he is a fantastic addition to team of attorneys,” said Jim Prochnow, shareholder and group leader of the Denver Health & FDA team.
As an active member of the community, Antonio provides pro bono legal counsel to poor and minority children in the public school system, as well as risk management to youth sports leagues. He serves as the chairman for the Colorado Hispanic Bar Association’s Business Development Committee and is listed as a Colorado Super Lawyers "Rising Star" in 2011 and 2012.
He is also a member of the litigation section, and sports and entertainment law section for both the Denver and Colorado Bar Associations. Antonio earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver in 2000 and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado in 1997.
