We are hoping to find a new warehouse management system that will easily transition from what we are using now with a solid background in 3PL.
Nashville, Tenn. (PRWEB) January 31, 2013
At the beginning of the year companies begin taking stock of what they have accomplished along with an overview of areas needing improvement. Through the past quarter, the logistics and warehousing professionals at Cimetra have experienced a large boom in business. They are now in the early processes of taking steps to find a new and improved warehouse management system (WMS) that is indicative of their current expansions in business.
Cimetra’s management team hopes to have a new WMS in place by July of 2013. President of Cimetra Melanie Guay will be making the final decision on a new warehouse management system, along with input from key members of the management staff.
“At present we are looking for a system that will meet the needs of our current customers, but also help us become more efficient overall,” stated Guay. “We are hoping to find a new warehouse management system that will easily transition from what we are using now with a solid background in 3PL.”
Overall benefits from an upgraded WMS will not only be felt by Cimetra, but their current portfolio of clients as well. The adoption of an advanced WMS is part of Cimetra’s efforts to heighten levels of customer service during an extensive period of growth and expansion. By taking advantage of new innovations in warehouse management technology by updating their WMS, Cimetra is on course to instituting a more effective service model. Such systems allow for better tracking and inventory management. They also provide clients with extensive information, which can be used to improve business, an essential feature where previous systems were lacking. Once a new WMS is in place a number of procedural matters will also need to be addressed.
Emphasis has also been placed on more specific details of a new WMS such as sustainability. As Cimetra continues to focus on reducing their environmental impacts, they are hoping to find a new system that allows for a paperless solution.
“This is not a decision that can be made overnight,” added Guay. “A lot of information has to be gathered and knowledge of the 3PL industry will be key in making the right decision to help Cimetra move in the direction of its original vision.”
