New York, NY (PRWEB) January 31, 2013

NYC-based startup Delve was named a Finalist (Alternate) today in this year’s SXSW Accelerator event’s News Technologies category. The competition, which showcases a handful of innovative early-stage startups, has featured companies like Storify, Hipmunk, and Condition One in recent years. Roughly 10 finalists were picked in each of the event’s six categories, out of over five hundred entrants.

Launched in November 2012, Delve is a smart, social news reader for professionals and organizations. The company is working in pilot with organizations in the fields of tech, finance, media, energy and education.

Said CEO Sandeep Ayyappan, "Last year at SXSW, we were toying with a cool idea and putting together our team, and it's hard to believe that a year later we'll be a part of the program itself. We've had such a great time in Austin the past couple of times we've been down for Interactive and we're especially excited to share our product with the other finalists and judges at this year's event."

The founders of Delve began working full-time on the startup in March 2012, following last year’s SXSW Interactive.
