Think Big Partners and H&R Block will host the Hackovate Health innovation competition finale at Kansas City’s newest venue, the Extreme Screen, in Union Station on February 26, 2013.

The Extreme Screen is Kansas City’s largest movie theater with a 60-foot wide silver screen equipped to display presentations, documentaries, commercial entertainment and even enable high-tech teleconferencing. The Extreme Screen, along with theater-style seating for 440 audience members, is located in Union Station in downtown Kansas City. The screen is accompanied by a 1100 square foot performance stage as well as high-tech projectors and speakers. The Extreme Screen officially opened on February 1, 2013. Hackovate Health will be one of the first events to ever take place at the Extreme Screen.

“Union Station is transforming into a hub for innovation and technology as a result of many projects like the Extreme Screen, which provide Kansas City with a first class venue to host activities centered around innovation, entrepreneurship and economic growth,” says Pete Fullerton, President and CEO of the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City. “This kind of commitment from Union Station is what makes Kansas City a national hub for creative industries and technology development. Events such as Hackovate Health show the high level of interaction, collaboration and engagement from our corporate, civic and entrepreneur communities.”

In an effort to remain a technological pioneer, Kansas City’s Extreme Screen will allow the top 10 Hackovate Health finalists to demonstrate their products, ideas, technologies and startups to a live audience and judging panel at the finale event on February 26, 2013.

“Hackovate Health is the best opportunity to showcase the Extreme Screen for what it was built for—entrepreneurs in Kansas City,” says Sarah Snyder, event coordinator for Hackovate Health. “Our city, thanks to its entrepreneurs and self-starters, continues to be on the forefront of technology and innovation. We cannot wait to showcase this on an even bigger scale at the Hackovate Health finale on the Extreme Screen.”
