Everything VegasTech is doing this year at SXSW is yet another example of the support, outreach and growth taking place here in Vegas.
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) January 31, 2013
Momentum continues to grow for VegasTech, the first official community representation at South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, as another startup from the Las Vegas tech scene joins the movement.
LaunchKey is one of VegasTech’s success stories, having gone from a 54-hour weekend hackathon to $750,000 in funding in just four and a half months. Founders Geoff Sanders, Devin Egan and Yo Sub Kwon developed a working prototype API and iOS application during Las Vegas Startup Weekend in July – and came in first place in the Overall and Best Design categories.
By the end of 2012, they’d already raised an impressive seed round, led by the VegasTechFund and joined by Kima Ventures, Ludlow Ventures, and Prolific VC.
“We’re extremely excited to represent VegasTech at SXSW,” said Geoff Sanders. “LaunchKey simply wouldn’t exist without the tech community here in Las Vegas, and everything VegasTech is doing this year at SXSW is yet another example of the support, outreach and growth taking place here in Vegas.”
As a startup sponsor, LaunchKey will showcase its developer-friendly API, plugins and tools at the VegasTech trade show stand, demonstrating the ability to integrate LaunchKey alongside, or in place of, an existing sign in or authentication system. They will also participate and support the two other VegasTech events, the lounge on Sunday and the party at Red 7 on Monday, March 11th.
LaunchKey joins current startup sponsors Alice Receptionist, Rumgr, Tracky, and Tabeso, as well as community sponsors Downtown Project, Technology Business Alliance of Nevada (TBAN) and Fuller Street Productions. Switch is the headlining sponsor, and Tech Cocktail rounds out the group as the group’s official media partner.
LaunchKey is a cybersecurity startup focused solely on evolving user authentication by killing passwords with physical authentication through your smartphone. We're attacking the most pressing problem facing us online today and one that's at the foundation of security in our connected future.
