“Many analysts and industry veterans believe WebRTC will be to videoconferencing and collaboration what the smart phone was to the cellular industry
Minneapolis, Minnesota (PRWEB) January 30, 2013
The Visual Communications Industry Group, VCI-Group, will host industry experts and analysts as they explore the inner workings and impact of WebRTC on the videoconferencing and Unified Communications industries on February 21, 2013. The session, VCIG Live!, produced by the VCI-Group Education Committee, is a live videoconferencing interactive session and streaming event sponsored and carried by ChorusCall. Registration is free to VCI-Group members and guests alike. http://www.vci-group.org/Events/vciglive.aspx.
The session, hosted by former radio talk show host and industry veteran, J. D. Vaughn, will feature Scott Wharton, Founder and CEO of Vidtel, Elliot Gold, Industry Analyst and Publisher of TeleSpan, and Dave Michals, Analyst, Speaker, Writer and Blogger for TalkingPointz.com.
J D Vaughn said. “Many analysts and industry veterans believe WebRTC will be to videoconferencing and collaboration what the smart phone was to the cellular industry. Many believe that WebRTC is the watershed development that will help move videoconferencing from millions of endpoints to billions of endpoints. It is such an important development that we want our members and the rest of the videoconferencing community to know as much as possible and to be ready for the impact of this watershed technology. We have a responsibility to keep our members and the rest of the industry informed and educated on important topics such as WebRTC.”
The session will begin at 1:00 PM EST, will last one hour and will be recorded for future delivery as well. VCIG Live! events follow a talk show format and this session will explore questions like why is WebRTC so important, how will it work, how will it impact my role, and how can I test and trial the capability? The session will also address the impact of WebRTC on Unified Communications.
According to Todd Hughes, Vice President of VCI-Group, “the world is getting smaller, and WebRTC will make the world even closer. WebRTC; Real Time Communication between browsers, more specifically audio microphones and web cameras, will open up new possibilities to anyone with a PC, MAC, tablet, or mobile device. By browsers adding this standard, and often free, technology, it will create a world of interoperability and collaboration never seen before. “
