Amerinet, Inc., a leading national healthcare solutions organization, today announced a new multi-year sole-source agreement with OSF HealthCare, which will continue the group purchasing and healthcare services partnership between the two organizations for a period of four years, beginning January 1, 2013.

OSF HealthCare, owned and operated by The Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis, Peoria, Ill., includes OSF HealthCare System consisting of eight acute care facilities, two long-term care facilities and two colleges of nursing. It also has a primary care physician network consisting of over 600 primary care, specialist physicians and advanced practice providers.

“Amerinet offers a high level of service to both our OSF owned and affiliate members. We are particularly pleased with the Amerinet Clinical Advantage program which has enabled us to significantly reduce expenses associated with Physician Preference items,” said Larry Brown, executive director of Sourcing and Contract Administration.

OSF has been an Amerinet member since 1994, and with the new agreement, the two organizations will continue collaborating on the development and implementation of process improvement and cost reduction initiatives in areas including orthopedic and spine implants, total joint and cardiac rhythm management, medication safety, and price accuracy in the laboratory and pharmacy. As part of the agreement, Amerinet will also provide OSF with a dedicated supply chain optimization manager and work with them to develop an enhanced contract portfolio, specifically for OSF facilities.

“OSF is a nationally recognized leader in providing quality care to the region and we place a tremendous value on the opportunity to help them reduce costs, increase efficiency and ultimately enhance the vital service they provide to the community. We look forward to continued success in working with them,” said Brian Straeb, Amerinet executive vice president of sales and marketing.
