Stellaris Health Expands Use of PatientKeeper Charge Capture Beyond Hospitalists to Five Practice Groups

PatientKeeper® Inc., the leading provider of healthcare applications for physicians, today announced that Stellaris Health Network has deployed PatientKeeper Charge Capture™ software at five of its clinical practice groups, so physicians can record their inpatient charges electronically. This deployment represents an expansion of Stellaris Health’s use of PatientKeeper; Stellaris’s hospitalists have used PatientKeeper Charge Capture successfully for three years.

The switch from paper to electronic charge capture will help the practices improve their efficiency and accuracy capturing professional charges, and accommodate the impending nationwide transition to the ICD-10 medical diagnosis coding system, mandated by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

As part of the new deployment, PatientKeeper receives patient information feeds from the Stellaris hospitals’ MEDITECH® information systems, and directly sends charge information to the practices’ NextGen® billing system.

PatientKeeper Charge Capture allows healthcare providers to improve revenue cycle management. The software helps hospitals and physician groups save time, maximize revenue, and ensure coding accuracy and compliance. PatientKeeper allows physicians to record charges on whatever device they prefer, including desktop and laptop computers, popular smartphones and tablets. Charges are then automatically passed to coders and back-end billing systems to improve compliance while ensuring that all appropriate charges are billed promptly and accurately.
