“We’ve invested significantly in industry frameworks and thought leadership to help clients realize value from their multi-million dollar EHR investments; build for the accountable future; and find ways to achieve the IHI Triple Aim,” said Daniel Coate.

Aspen Advisors, a U.S.-based global healthcare consulting firm, announced today that it achieved continued success in 2012. In 2012, Aspen started work with 26 new clients including Mary Washington Healthcare and Scottsdale Healthcare, among others. The firm also received numerous accolades for service delivery and its culture. Based on direct client feedback, Aspen ranked among the top 3 firms in the Overall Services Firms Ranking and among the top 5 firms in the Planning and Assessment market segment in KLAS’ “2012 Best in KLAS Awards: Software and Services” report, which ranks the top software and professional services vendors in the healthcare industry. Based on direct associate feedback, Aspen ranked among the top 20 employers in Modern Healthcare’s “100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare” for a second consecutive year. The company was also named one of Consulting magazine’s “Best Firms to Work For” in 2012.

Additionally, Aspen developed and deployed industry frameworks and thought leadership including:

  • A Population Health IT planning methodology called Voice of the Customer ACO IT planning. This assists clients in defining the set of customer/healthcare stakeholder wants and needs, organizing them into supporting technology requirements, and prioritizing in an action plan to address organizational ACO and population health management strategies.
  • A Data Governance Maturity Model to help organizations understand where they are along the continuum relative to peers and outline steps to move to advanced stages. Data management and data governance are supportive components of providing higher value care.
  • An EHR Value Realization Maturity Model. While an EHR implementation establishes bedrock functionality, health systems are challenged with optimizing systems and processes and realizing the value of their investments. This model outlines four levels of maturity and the key competencies at each. Hospitals can quickly understand their current status relative to peers and build a roadmap to support their future goals and outcome measures.
  • Co-authoring a book on IT governance titled “IT Governance in Hospitals and Health Systems”, which was published by HIMSS.

“One of our core values is client interests first – doing what’s right for the client and adding value,” said Daniel Herman, Founder and Managing Principal at Aspen Advisors. “We’re proud of our successes in 2012. Our clients rely upon us to define and implement solutions to their problems, serve as catalyst for meaningful change, transfer knowledge, and move on. We’re pleased that in 2012 26 new healthcare organizations have trusted us to do just that.”

“Aspen is focused on making healthcare better, one project at a time,” said Daniel Coate, Principal. “We’ve invested significantly in industry frameworks and thought leadership to help clients realize value from their multi-million dollar EHR investments; build for the accountable future; and find ways to achieve the IHI Triple Aim.”
