PropertyRecord.com is moving beyond simply giving people access to their property records; they are also going to offer people the chance to correct errors in the public documents that are available about them, company officials said.

“In a perfect world, all public records created by real estate professionals would be perfectly accurate,” said company spokesman Josh Fraser. “The problem is, that real estate workers are human and are not perfect, so mistakes happen. We don't want those mistakes to affect the lives of honest Americans.”

“Sometimes it's a simple clerical error,” Fraser said. “Other times, the person is a victim of a flood damage scam. Either way, they have the right to clear the property history and we will be there to help them with that.”

Depending on the nature of the error the customer service team will then provide the customer with information about how to document and correct the error.

“This is a no-brainer for us,” Fraser said. “Property records are powerful tools, but they are only helpful if they are accurate and up to date. We hope to do everything in our power to make sure that the property records available for every American are full of correct and not misleading information.”
