International digital marketing agency SiliconCloud has found that businesses place more weight on potential client profile than volume of leads. The finding comes as a result of an extensive feedback survey the Dublin and Jacksonville based agency have just completed.
The survey was designed to assess client priorities and find out what businesses really want from digital marketing. The survey found that, while a high volume of leads was a desirable result, business owners are more concerned with the profile of the leads.
SiliconCloud founder and CEO Patrick Murphy says he is unsurprised by the results, “You can often hear it in a clients voice on a call. You can list off traffic and lead figures and you’ll get a positive reaction. But it’s no more than they were expecting. When you bring a really high-profile name into the conversation, you can hear a client’s tone change.”
Murphy was quick to emphasize the importance of some metrics, “That doesn’t mean you don’t need the metrics. Some of our clients have gotten leads from household names in industries like retail, sportswear and online search. Those names are important to our clients, but we still need to focus on the figures to achieve those results.”
“We always focus on the same core metrics to measure success. We need to know that we’re helping clients to achieve growth, in terms of online traffic and within their business. The clients clearly prefer to hear about the high-profile leads, but we have to work just as hard no matter what names we encounter.”
SiliconCloud have worked with over 100 clients and the research is based on feedback from each of them. The topics covered included client priorities and success criteria for digital marketing agencies.
