There is a definite need for a supportive community where medical spouses can gather online and provide advice, assistance and help to each other that only those within the medical community can offer through their personal experiences.

DoctorSpouses, a new online community support website for the spouses and significant others of medical students and physicians, is sponsoring a Valentine’s Giveaway February 1st through the 9th. The giveaway will award the winner with a “Happy Valentine’s Day Gift Basket” from GourmetGiftBaskets.com, and they will also receive a copy of “The Medical Marriage”, by Wayne Sotile, PhD.

To enter the giveaway, visit DoctorSpouses.com.

DoctorSpouses hopes that the giveaway will help garner online community support where they provide online discussion forums for spouses, fitness, fashion, cooking and reading clubs, monthly giveaways, as well as articles written by spouses of physicians and medical students about topics relevant to the spouse’s community and exclusive savings and discounts negotiated with companies just for members of the site. The website also provides directories for current medical spouses groups across the U.S. as well as a free ‘Ask a Physician Financial Advisor’ column, where spouses can ask financial questions related to medical school and residency, and receive answers from DoctorSpouses’ partner, physician financial advisor firm, ACAP Asset Management.

Laura Spawn, the wife of a fourth year medical student and founder of DoctorSpouses, says “I am extremely optimistic that the site will become the go to place for the spouses and significant others of medical students and physicians in all stages of their lives. There is a definite need for a supportive community where spouses can gather online and provide advice, assistance and help to each other that only those within the medical community can offer through their personal experiences. I hope DoctorSpouses can provide this support.”

DoctorSpouses invites all those interested in their community to come visit the site and contact them with any questions or interest in partnering and support.
