Booth 9 will be the venue for an exclusive preview of Virtalis’ Visionary Render software, which will be launched later in the year. “We’ve put all our Virtual Reality (VR) know-how into Visionary Render. It’s a system that can cope with the most complex data and render it in 3D stereo, then adds tracking for human-in-the-loop immersion and networking for interactive, multi-disciplinary design reviews or training exercises,” explained Andrew Connell, technical director at Virtalis. Visionary Render is able to take data from the leading shipbuilding CAD packages, including Foran, Tribon, Creo, SolidWorks and Aveva Marine.
ICCAS exists to provide a global forum for operational experience from existing computer applications in the design and build of ships and offshore structures. Topics covered include; CAD, CAM, integrated systems, knowledge management, simulation and, naturally, VR. It will also examine the advances in Information Technology which have contributed to increased productivity in both shipbuilding and maritime operations; including increasing co-operative working between shipyards, marine equipment and system manufacturers, engineering partners and shipping companies.
Co-operative working in immersive 3D and VR environments is what Virtalis applications are all about and the rear-projected ActiveMove system Virtalis is bringing to ICCAS will perfectly demonstrate how a fully tracked VR model brings virtual prototypes to life. Virtalis will be demonstrating a virtual prototype model of a new search and rescue vessel. Delegates at ICCAS will be able to thoroughly explore this interactive model for themselves.
