“The communities that parks and recreation agencies were designed to serve have been changing quite dramatically, and agencies are increasingly responding to the needs and expectations of their members with mobile technology,” said Dr. Basu.

Strive, the mobile community engagement platform from Slipstream, LLC, will showcase the latest version of its app at the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) Congress and Exposition, October 8 - 10 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. Strive staff will also be offering free 1:1 mobile strategy sessions and hands-on demos for agency staff.

Strive, the mobile and web platform partner for the National Recreation and Park Association, is a free mobile app that helps both agencies and health and wellness organizations build stronger relationships with their members.

Strive gives members instant access to a mobile directory of all programs, activities and events and registration, while empowering members to connect with friends and family, share activities and create memories that last a lifetime. Strive also features powerful analytics that reduce the cost of traditional activity promotion and generate revenue by reaching members online in real-time. Visit booth #132 for a live demonstration.

Strive founder and CEO Dr. Choton Basu will present, “Devising a Community Engagement Ecosystem.” He’ll discuss how the future of agencies relies on their ability to engage their communities to ensure stronger relationships. The session will provide participants with strategies to create a fully-engaged community ecosystem.

“The communities that parks and recreation agencies were designed to serve have been changing quite dramatically, and agencies are increasingly responding to the needs and expectations of their members with mobile technology,” said Dr. Basu. “A proper implementation of a mobile engagement strategy will lead to communities that are healthier, active and plugged in to events, programs and classes.”

The session will take place Tuesday, October 8 at 2:45 p.m. room 370ABC in the George R. Brown Convention Center. For more information visit http://www.nrpa.org/congress2013.
