“Parade is an exciting time for home builders to exhibit our best new homes and this year we want to give back. We are fortunate to have the support of a great team and even better communities." - Scott Thorson, Citizens Homes COO.

Raleigh, NC (PRWEB) October 02, 2013

Citizens Homes, experts in building, delivering and servicing quality homes, is asking Wake County Parade Of Home visitors to help feed the hungry. Each weekend from October 5 – 20 Citizens Homes will hold a food drive at two Parade home locations. All non-perishable food items collected will be donated directly to the Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC.

Citizens Homes and the Food Bank ask that Parade goers bring food donations of proteins such as canned pasta, grains such as cereal, pasta/rice and beans, canned fruits and vegetables, and 100% juice/juice boxes. Other requested items include baby diapers, formula, cereal and wipes as well as personal hygiene and paper products.

“Parade is an exciting time for home builders to exhibit our best new homes and this year we want to give back,” says Scott Thorson, Citizens Homes COO. “We are fortunate to have the support of a great team and even better communities. Our goal during this year’s parade is to take a moment to assist our neighbors who may need a little extra help this year.”

The food drive will take place in Fuquay-Varina at 1301 Old Bramble Lane in the Lakestone Village neighborhood. Donations will also be accepted in Knightdale at 3001 Princeton Town Street in the community of Princeton Manor. Donation hours are from 12 pm to 5 pm each Saturday and Sunday of the Parade.
