Brightree LLC, the leading provider of cloud-based clinical, billing and business management software solutions for the post-acute care industry, and ResMed, an innovator and pioneer in developing products for the treatment of sleep-disordered breathing and respiratory conditions, have signed an electronic data exchange agreement to help joint customers streamline business processes by ordering ResMed equipment directly from the Brightree® platform. With an integrated interface between the two systems, customers can dramatically reduce inventory-related costs, eliminate duplicate data entry, and maximize order accuracy.

Because Brightree and the ResMed Online Store (ROS) are web-based platforms, the two systems can exchange provider, patient and product information that ensures access to real-time pricing and product availability information. By simplifying and automating the ordering process, the integrated system delivers significant value to providers, including:

  •     Streamlined order taking and fulfillment process by sending orders electronically instead of on paper or via phone-based ordering
  •     Reduced overpayments by having access to real-time pricing information directly within the ordering workflow in Brightree
  •     Reduced patient delivery delays by having access to real-time item availability information at the time of order
  •     Eliminating opportunity for incorrect order information by having the ResMed catalog and images appear directly within the Brightree interface.

How it Works

When a purchase order is created in the Brightree system, a transmission is sent from Brightree via a secure FTP connection to ROS. The electronic links between the systems will give the customer real-time access to product details, inventory availability and critical order information as well as the ability to submit a purchase order directly into ResMed’s internal ordering system. The links will also give customers the ability to track their purchases with order confirmations, shipping and delivery notifications, as well as electronic invoices all within the Brightree system.

Brightree and ResMed will demonstrate the solution in their respective booths at Medtrade Fall 2013 next week [Brightree booth #451, ResMed booth #1024].
