Hassett Willis & Company Senior Associate, Alan Wright, will serve as a panelist in the 2013 SXSW Eco program session titled “Adaptation: Managing the Unavoidable and Avoiding the Unimaginable.” He will discuss challenges posed by climate change and how the Federal Government can develop strategies to better mitigate and adapt to them.
“I'm passionate about creating change: developing ideas, plans, or products that have real social impacts that ultimately improve our communities and daily life,” said Wright. “U.S. citizens want more meaningful action from our leadership that will have an impact environmental issues. I’m looking forward to giving some insight into the realities of getting this done.”
In his current work at HWC, Wright supports the Department of Homeland Security and Federal Emergency Management Agency in designing and developing their climate change strategies. He was also an integral part of a dynamic client/consulting team that employed cutting edge thinking to develop the White House Council on Environmental Quality model for federal inter-agency climate change adaptation.
The 2013 SXSW Eco program is a conference that will be held October 7-9th at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, TX. Its mission is to provide solutions by engaging experts to bring new thinking to pertinent environmental challenges. Wright’s session is open to the public and will be streamed live on http://www.sxsweco.com and http://www.bna.com on October 8th from 4:30–5:30 PM.
