Ziegler, a specialty investment bank, is pleased to be a LeadingAge Gold Partner and a sponsor of the upcoming 2013 LeadingAge Annual Meeting and Exposition in Dallas, Texas. LeadingAge’s annual meeting connects thousands of aging services professionals to embrace and implement new technology solutions and to rethink care delivery models. Ziegler will also be a co-sponsor of the inaugural HackFest at this year’s meeting. Neil Borg, Managing Director and head of Ziegler’s Corporate Finance Healthcare practice will be on the judge’s panel for the competition.

HackFest is a two-day event, October 25-27 that will challenge student teams from universities across the country to “Engage With Age” by creating a technology-driven tool aimed at improving the lives of older adults and their families. Participants will have one day to design their tool and present a plan for how the solution could be implemented. Tools will be judged based on originality, usability, feasibility, design relevance, and the most developed by the end of the HackFest. The first place team will be awarded $5,000. Final presentations and judging will be held on Sunday, October 27.

Dan Hermann, Senior Managing Director and Head of Investment Banking at Ziegler, commented, “It is our privilege to support such a great organization, as LeadingAge. Their leadership and dedication to the 6,000 non-for-profit organizations they serve is truly remarkable. Each year LeadingAge brings forth a new concept for the ever growing and changing aging population. And this year is no different.
