Each year, billions of dollars are cycled through the fashion industry in the United Stated alone. Products fly off the shelves based on popular trends, and consumers spend an increasingly large amount to keep themselves and their families clothed. However, many organizations and companies were also looking for ways in which this industry, never known for environmental conscientiousness, could become more sustainable. These groundbreaking organizations are featuring new ways to partner the green movement and the fashion world.
The "Leading Edge" program, with host Jimmy Johnson, is teaming with clothing manufacturers who are now utilizing recycled materials in the production of their products. By featuring content that shows where these recycled products come from, how they are made, and the reduction of the overall carbon footprint through the processes, consumers will now have a better understanding of how obtaining a certain "look" does not have to be environmentally wasteful.
