Leading Philadelphia-area mechanical contracting firm Burns Mechanical is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Roof as project manager effective October 14. A resident of Collingswood, NJ, Roof is a 30-year construction industry veteran.

Roof will report to director of construction operations Keith Thomas. Thomas is responsible for all project management activities, the technical development team, the company’s fabrication shop, and the construction labor force.

Roof maintains professional engineering licenses in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. He began his career as a mechanical engineer for Gulf Oil in 1981, and his most recent position before joining Burns was project manager for Fluidics of Philadelphia.
Roof earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering from Bucknell University and master’s degree in industrial management from Widener University. An active participant in several engineering-related trade organizations, Roof currently serves as vice president of the Philadelphia Chapter of the National Certified Pipe Welding Bureau.
