Fundraisers like the Bow Wow Ball are essential in providing help for these animals – from veterinary assistance, to behaviour training, to funding SNAP, our subsidized spay and neuter program.

Get out your greatest Gatsby-inspired gear - The Winnipeg Humane Society (WHS) is throwing its annual Bow Wow Ball fundraising gala on Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Fairmont Winnipeg. This year’s theme is the Great Catsby, the roarrring 20th anniversary of the Bow Wow Ball.
Live auction prizes include an eight-day African safari, where the winner will get to see some great cats – perhaps bigger than the ones at the shelter – up close and personal.
“The Winnipeg Humane Society receives over 8,500 animals each year,” said Bill McDonald, WHS CEO. “Fundraisers like the Bow Wow Ball are essential in providing help for these animals – from veterinary assistance, to behaviour training, to funding SNAP, our subsidized spay and neuter program.”
Guests are invited to dress in their best 1920s-inspired clothes and dance the night away to the tunes of the Danny Kramer Big Band. Individual tickets are $200, while corporate tables are $2,250. Tickets can be purchased online at winnipeghumanesociety.ca or by calling 204-982-2041.
The Winnipeg Humane Society is a registered charity and non-profit organization whose mission is to protect all animals from suffering and to promote their welfare and dignity. Funded primarily by donations, The WHS takes in between 8,000-9,000 animals on an annual basis. All pets offered for adoption and sale have been spayed or neutered, received necessary shots and treatments, and a behavioural assessment.
