ATRS Recycling Kicked Up Its Heels at 46th Annual San Dimas Western Days and Rodeo
San Dimas, CA (PRWEB) October 07, 2013 -- Participants in the 46th Annual San Dimas Western Days & Rodeo had one more environmentally friendly reason to kick up their heels this past Saturday and Sunday, October 5 & 6, 2013.
Attendees were encouraged to bring a bag of unwanted clothes, shoes, old rodeo boots and household textiles to the parade downtown San Dimas for recycling. Brightly colored ATRS Recycling bins were stationed at Bonita Street near City Hall Parking Lot and on the Rodeo Grounds on San Dimas Canyon Road at Horsethief Canyon. By-standers watched as the distinctive ATRS truck passed along the parade route.
San Dimas residents already support the textile recycling program and many local retailers, property managers and store owner provide this easy and convenient opportunity to recycle all year round. Every pound collected in the community generates revenue to support local charity Giving Children Hope. The funds are used to support the “We’ve Got Your Back” nutrition program in area schools. “This was a fun opportunity to teach families and kids about the benefits of recycling,” said Bill Corrao, Government Relations Director for ATRS Southern California. “By bringing a bag of recycling to the San Dimas Rodeo, we’re keeping textiles out of our city landfills, helping a local charity and doing something great for the planet. It’s win win win!”
