Quorum Health Resources (QHR), one of the top consulting firms in the nation, recently hired a vice president of strategy to spearhead its efforts in helping hospitals and health systems address market changes with strategic resources.
The new hire, Rob Nelson, has more than 20 years of global experience in strategy, marketing, and operations. Rob's areas of expertise include strategic planning, market development, business development, and program management.
He previously served as global solutions leader of strategy, leadership and performance transformation for GE Healthcare. Prior to joining GE Healthcare, Rob was the senior vice president of strategic marketing and business development for AHIMA and the executive director of the American Board of Medical Specialties. In these positions, Rob improved the performance and strategic position of numerous healthcare organizations.

Rob is actively involved in many industry associations, as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and member of the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development; Strategic Management Society; and American Marketing Association among others. He holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management (Northwestern University) and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma. Rob is also certified in Global Strategy and Leadership by the Thunderbird School of Management and in Negotiations by the Harvard Program on Negotiation and is a Doctoral Candidate in Strategic Marketing at Grenoble Ecole de Management with a focus on transformation of healthcare organizations.
