BookSmarts, LLC has just launched a brand new app specifically designed to help independently published authors explode their free promotions on Amazon. Co-founder Rob Howard has helped several clients with their book promotions and managed to net an impressive 5,000+ free downloads for one client's book after only two days on Amazon.
While Mr. Howard has mainly worked with clients who publish books independently, co-founder Ashly Lorenzana began publishing books in the Kindle store in 2010 and has been quoted as saying she is "an author first, a marketer second."
Together, the two of them realized the unique challenges faced by authors as well as the services and sites that aid in their promotions.
Ms. Lorenzana expressed their understanding of both sides, saying, "Authors want to promote their free days on Amazon and get more exposure through giving their book away, while owners of sites that feature free Kindle books want to recommend the best books to their audience and don't want to be flooded with junk or spam submissions."
In an effort to transform the Kindle promotion process, they hired a developer to join their team and have recently launched KD Promo App, a cross-platform tool that helps authors automate the submission of their upcoming free days to hundreds of websites featuring free books.
Their goal was to develop an app that made it possible for debut and lesser known authors to get their books in the hands of thousands of new readers in the hopes of making them loyal fans ready to buy their next release.
KD Promo App is currently in beta and needs additional testers as new features are added and improved. Mr. Howard has issued an open invitation for anyone involved in publishing books to inquire about potential partnership opportunities involving KD Promo App.
"Our next step is to connect with some established site owners and other marketers in the Kindle publishing niche in order to expand our network and partner with us in a way that benefits both parties and helps authors promote their books," explains Mr. Howard.
