Shofu is a market leader in dental materials manufacturing, and we are very honored to be partnering with them to bring BruxZir brand zirconia to the third largest dental market globally: Japan.

Glidewell Laboratories, industry-leading provider of dental laboratory products and services, announced today an alliance with Shofu Inc. of Japan to bring BruxZir® Solid Zirconia directly to the Japanese dental market. Under the terms of the partnership, Shofu will have exclusive rights to distribute the groundbreaking restorative dental material to the nation’s dental laboratories and dentists.

BruxZir Solid Zirconia is the most prescribed brand of solid zirconia restoration, a status it earned through its superior strength and the unique vital translucence it exhibits due to its patent-pending colloidal processing. Initially launched as an esthetic alternative to posterior restorations because of its high impact resistance, durability and stability in the mouth, enhanced translucency and color have made BruxZir Solid Zirconia increasingly popular with dentists worldwide as a restorative option in the anterior as well. With the addition of both BruxZir Solid Zirconia and the new BruxZir® Shaded Solid Zirconia to Shofu’s product portfolio, Shofu Japan’s native customers will now have local access to Glidewell’s signature lines of monolithic zirconia material.

Shofu is a world-renowned provider of high-quality dental products and equipment. With global revenues of $165 million, the partnership with Shofu opens to Glidewell a substantial Asian market to develop. "Shofu is a market leader in dental materials manufacturing, and we are very honored to be partnering with them to bring BruxZir brand zirconia to the third largest dental market globally: Japan," stated Jim Glidewell, president and CEO of Glidewell Laboratories.

Kajo Shofu III, an entrepreneur and researcher who developed the first locally made, high-quality porcelain denture teeth, founded Shofu Incorporated in 1922. With more than 450 employees, Shofu is one of the top producers of superior dental products used by dentists, dental technicians and dental hygienists.
