Over 100 Agency Executives Surveyed for Insights into How They and Their Clients are Extending Video Ad Campaigns to Major Social Properties such as Facebook and Twitter

This report outlines what agencies, and their clients, are doing to capitalize on the ability to extend video ad campaigns to the major social properties, how they are going about it, and why. Marketers’ use of video advertising is growing exponentially, as is their use of social marketing. Video and social are colliding to create immense opportunity for advertisers, yet this rapid change has resulted in questions and confusion. Mixpo surveyed over 100 U.S. agency executives to gain insight into their plans and views related to video advertising on Facebook, Twitter, and other major social properties. Mixpo also integrated third party research to round out the findings.

Some highlights include:

  •     91% of agency clients plan to spend money on social advertising in 2014
  •     Yet, a mere 26% of agency execs described themselves as “reasonably competent” when it comes to video advertising on social media and 40% said they were still “growing their capability”
  •     32% of agency executives think they are advertising on Facebook with video (which is not yet possible)
  •     As soon as Facebook opens up video advertising, 49% of agency execs expect to use it to run video advertising campaigns
