Williams Mullen is pleased to announce that Michael B. Steele has been named to the 2013 edition of the “Top 40 Under 40” list by Inside Business.
Mr. Steele is active in the Hampton Roads community, serving on the Chesapeake Fine Arts Commission, which works to promote arts education and increase access to the arts. As part of that involvement, he chairs the city's Public Art Committee, which is charged with developing the city's 9/11 memorial. Mr. Steele is also a member of the program committee for Hampton Roads Business OutReach, an LGBT-supportive business group.
In addition to his membership on various local boards and organizations, Mr. Steele provides pro bono legal representation to a variety of local nonprofits, including a humane society, an AIDS charity and a regional arts organization. In the past, he has been a board member for the Chesapeake Humane Society, has volunteered as a pee-wee soccer coach for Chesapeake United, and has been an adjunct professor at William and Mary Law School.
