Black Bros. will be participating in the Discover Manufacturing Career Expo hosted in Utica, IL, October 23rd. The event starts at 9:00 AM with a keynote speaker, and is followed by a handful of plant tours of surrounding businesses, one of which will be The Black Bros. Company. The students then end up back in Utica for the “Celebrations 150” Expo.
"(The expo) provides a forum for 300 high school students to explore a variety of career options, meet face-to-face with local employers and understand the educational and work-ready requirements needed to obtain employment and possible promotion in their field of interest," said Carus Corporation Human Resources Vice President Judy Wierman.
High school students from the area who attend will get a good exposure to all aspects of manufacturing, and the jobs that are needed to make it happen. From administration, accounting, IT, sales & marketing, service, and yes, manufacturing jobs, they will get a good slice of “real time” manufacturing life during their plant tours.
Black Bros. has always been very involved in the life of the community, and this is just another way of showing their appreciation to the community. For a better understanding of what the day is about, and a look into the surrounding communities, you can visit MyWebTimes.com
