Dulles Electric Supply invites the Greater DC community to set their clocks an hour back and in addition to changing fire alarm batteries to try a LED light bulb in the home. On November 2nd, 2013 the store will be hosting a 'Change A Clock, Change A Light Bulb' event sponsored by Bulbrite. Dulles Electric Supply has been serving the Washington metropolitan area since 1985 providing the finest in Lighting and Electrical Supplies to the Home Owner, Builder, and Contractor. Bulbrite is a leading supplier and educator of innovative, energy-efficient light source solutions.
On Sunday, November 3rd, 2013, people all throughout North America will be turning back their clocks an hour, signaling the end of daylight savings time. With shorter daylight hours during the winter season, the average household owner will turn on more lights for longer periods of time to supplement lost daylight hours. This fall, Dulles Electric Supply and Bulbrite are challenging users to be energy smart.
Traditionally, people have been encouraged to use this day to change batteries in fire alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. However, with the increasing availability of affordable LED light bulbs and the importance of energy savings as an economic advantage, Dulles Electric and Bulbrite are encouraging the Greater DC community to change a light bulb from an energy-wasting incandescent bulb to a LED light bulb. Providing over 70% savings on energy costs, LEDs are the new everyday light bulb.
Dulles Electric Supply and Bulbrite will kick off daylight savings on November 2nd from 9am to 5pm by 'Falling Back' into savings with LEDs. Guests who attend the all day in-store event will have the chance to win free LED light bulbs, energy-efficient raffle prizes, enjoy a free lunch and have the opportunity to attend a LED seminar to learn more about the new technology and why it’s such a great alternative.
