The funniest new TV series isn't on TV at all... it's on YouTube.
'Stu and Wes are Astronauts,' created by Noah Martin, follows the laugh-out-loud final moments of the title characters' final mission in space, seconds before they crash into the sun - which hilariously they do at the end of every episode.
While this release, which they are distributing themselves on YouTube, includes just the first season of the series, the team behind the funny are planning on a second run of episode soon.
Some of the stories in season one include Stu and Wes dealing with their demise through telling spooky stories, creating their own sun religion, and masturbation races - which prove difficult in zero gravity.
The creator, Noah Martin, a Los Angeles based writer and actor, says the series draws on inspiration from such varied sources as 2001: A Space Odyssey, Seinfeld, and Waiting for Godot. Also starring Damon Pfaff and directed by Addison Neville, the series was produced by Manon Parisot and Matthew Irving Epstein.
After having gained a half a million views in just a week since their launch, it seems like demand for season two will be high.
